Sometimes it’s not until our boiler completely breaks down that we consider installing a new one. However, to avoid the stress of having to wait until its completely broken down, here are a few signs to look out for which may indicate it’s time replace your current boiler for a new one.

Firstly, check how old your boiler actually is. Many of us have moved homes in our lifetimes and so may not have been responsible for the boiler that is in our current home. If you discover that your boiler is 10 or more years old, it may be a good time to enquire about installing a new one. Boilers of this age tend to be less efficient as well as may not meet updated safety standards.

Boilers that are noisy and make rattling sounds should also be considered for replacement. The noise could be due to the way it is firing up, burning fuel or parts rattling within the mechanics of the boiler itself. Any of which are not ideal and could be an indication that your boiler isn’t going to last much longer.

Finally, if you have noticed a smell coming from your boiler this could be an urgent indication that you need a new one. Boilers should be odourless and if they’re not it’s an indication that your boiler is emitting carbon monoxide which can be lethal. If you do notice a smell, turn your boiler off immediately and call one of our engineers to come and take a look.

Do any of these issues sound familiar? Then it’s probably time you start to consider replacing your boiler for a newer, more efficient and quieter version. Our staff will happily talk you through the options that are best for you and advise on the best next steps. Get in touch today to find out more!
